Nursing Home Deficiency Lists
Voices has compiled and arranged these lists by county to aid Maryland families in their searches for quality nursing homes for loved ones. All of the materials here are a part of the public record. The nursing homes listed are those on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Nursing Home Compare web site which either had very few deficencies or which had a large number of deficiencies in their last state survey. These facilities all accept Medicare and/or Medicaid funding. The statistics on the number of citations of deficiency for these nursing homes also come from the CMS web site.
The citations of actual harm as listed on our “Voices Watch List” are listed under the individual nursing homes on the CMS web site as a citation of deficiency that carries a Level of Harm designation of 3 (Actual Harm). We also list on our “Voices Watch List” those homes where additional information raises some questions regarding the level of care in that nursing home. Please use this list as one tool in choosing a nursing home, not as your only source of information.
We endeavor to keep this list as up to date as possible. However, we are not perfect. Please report any errors or possible errors to our Webmaster so that we can check and correct them as soon as possible.
For nursing homes: We invite you to check the information provided here and ask you to please alert us to any inaccuracies in the lists.
